SHUFFLING THE DECK

Addition and Remodel

BEFORE AND AFTER

Did you ever get the feeling that the spaces in your home just aren't where they should be? The family of this Ann Arbor home wanted to change the nature of the house completely. The planning process led us to a solution that rearranged almost every space on the main floor.

Reconfiguring the exterior massing provided a much more balanced aesthetic while respecting the architecture of the original home.

KITCHEN

A modest addition gave us an expansive Kitchen and sitting room in the perfect location for this home, as well as a Primary Suite to be envied. Their new locations allow them to take advantage of the natural setting in ways they couldn't before, large windows framing the views outside.

SITTING

The rearrangement of spaces changed completely how the first floor and was experienced, with the living room being only space staying in the same location. All of these changes allowed an opportunity to upgrade each space for better functionality, more natural light, and maximized access to the amazing views the site has to offer.

COMFORT

This remodel also created space for additional storage opportunities throughout the home.

Energy upgrades (insulation, air sealing, and mechanical system upgrades) performed during construction vastly improved the comfort throughout.

BEDROOM

Whether your house is in need of small changes to improve the functionality of the space, or requires a complete rethinking of the home, we can find the right path for you.
