Whole House Remodel and Addition
EXTERIOR
This Mid-century modern home was failing its owners, between water damage, too little insulation, and a dysfunctional kitchen and dining room. We transformed the home with a modest addition, changed the profile of the house with a dynamic new roof structure, simplified the paths through the house and added space, and wrapped the entire home in a blanket of insulation; vastly improving its aesthetics, durability, function and flow.
ENTRY
The new entry sequence created by the addition allows all of the public spaces to serve their functions unencumbered by excess paths, allowing them to live larger than they had previously, even if they hadn't grown substantially.
ADDITION
A modest addition of only 300 square feet allowed for the reallocation of space for the carport, kitchen, dining, mudroom, and powder room, changing the flow of the spaces.
KITCHEN
A relocated carport allowed for a lowered Mud Room and Powder Bath, as well as a new vaulted Kitchen, Pantry, and Dining Room.
